whapples is a community orchard run by pupils who have volunteered to be part of this project.The board is made up of pupils, staff and business advisors:

Queensberry Initiative supporters have important links with Queensberry Estate which has been vital in securing the land essential for whapples.
During this project apples and soft fruits will be grown; these will then be sold in a variety of ways to the local community. This will provide customers with a food product that has low food miles and has been produced in an eco-friendly environment.
